The bad news is that this April 6, 2005, Washington Post article by Paul Farhi drips with condescension (for three pages, no less). The good news is that it is about Herb Alpert's music being reissued, albeit by a little label, Shout! Factory, of Los Angeles. The article is rather exasperating, but it does contain some nice Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass information despite itself.
(OK, so now I'm being condescending. Sorry.)
Here's to more upbeat music hitting the shelves, old or new. I don't know about you, but I'm tired of ugly lyrics and downer attitudes in music.
