John Leo: Baking up a controversy

Who would have thought that cookie sales could stir up this much trouble?

I'm not sure who came up with the idea for affirmative action bake sales - where prices are rigged according to the usual criteria used in affirmative action - but they've caught on among conserverative and moderate students wishing to make a point. As John Leo points out, the opposition forces are acting like this is of earth-shattering importance and are using any argument they can get their hands on to shut them down.

(One nice touch is that one university allowed a satirical feminist wage-gap bake sale, but not the affirmative action one...)
