...when it's wildfire season. Our home isn't in any danger, but off and on you have to know there are mountains just outside town, because it's kind of hard to see them through the haze. And breathing can make you cough and sniffle. This morning we found out that friends of ours who live in the country have a splendid view of the Shake Table fire from their deck. Not what you want to hear. They should be all right, the way the fire is moving, etc., but still, definitely not the sort of show you want to watch from your own yard.
Some of the neighboring communities have light dustings of ash, and flakes of it coming down. Not pleasant. We're just enough farther away we haven't had that. Yet, anyway.
And, yes, my husband has lung problems. And, yes, we have the house closed up and the A/C on. So far so good on that front.

Katheryn, My wife and I have an air purification business here in new jersey. Our technology is unque in the market and very effective against all kinds of smoke, odors, allergens, and microorganisms. Contact me if you want further info.
The Red Cross helped distribute some of our machines to people in southern california several years ago during those really huge fires, and many people were able to stay in hteir homes instead of evacuating because of the smoke.
I hope this can be of help to you.
