Prospectors' Thunell ends career with a title

Oh, boy. There's nothing like going out on top of your game. Literally. The title linked story is about Art Thunell, the head baseball coach at Grant Union High School, which is located between John Day and Canyon City, Oregon:

Thunell finishes his career at the John Day school with 591 wins. In second place is Jim McAbee, formerly of Medford (566).

The final season for Thunell had something special, too, as the Prospectors went 31-0. The 2005 state title was Thunell's third, but it was his first undefeated season.
