Tapscott's Copy Desk: Are You Ready For Blogshine Sunday and Sunshine Week?

Just so you know...

This coming Sunday is Blogshine Sunday, the first day of Sunshine Week, which is a national commemoration of the First Amendment, Freedom of Information in government and the public's right to know how its business is being conducted by elected officials and permanent employees of government at all levels...
Mark Tapscott's post has links for more information on Sunshine Week, the Freedom of Information Act, and The Open Government Act of 2005 - which is scheduled to hit subcommittee next Tuesday. Mr. Tapscott is one of the people who will testify at that hearing, and promises to keep us updated.

UPDATE: March 18, 2005. Just found out I'm linked at http://freeculture.org/wiki/index.php/Blogshine_Sunday. Lots of quotes, sources, leads, resources, overview of the Blogshine project, plus a bit on the "Sunshine Sunday" and "Sunshine Week" efforts run simultaneously by the American Society of Newspaper Editors.
