University professor tells prisoners to tell stories via Internet - JAMAICAOBSERVER.COM

Just so you know, Harvard Law School has a Berkman Center for Internet and Society, and it's, uh, adopted Jamaica to some degree, I guess you could say. Let's just say I have mixed feelings about the approach...
A Harvard University law professor yesterday told Jamaican prison inmates to tell their stories via the Internet, as one way of informing the world about the problems the island faced "from their own unique perspectives"...
OK, so stop laughing. Maybe it could work. The center is putting its money where its mouth is, and supplying equipment. At least I hope it is using its money and not funds supplied by taxpayers.

I hadn't heard of the Berkman Center until last night, and it's looking like a good place for people who use cyberspace to keep an eye on: http://cyber.law.harvard.edu/home/

There's also a little bit about the center over at http://www.answers.com/topic/harvard-law-school
