The Scotsman - Business - BAE steals march on rivals with 6th US buy

BAE is aiming to become "the premier transatlantic defence contractor", and is taking steps to achieve that goal:

BAE SYSTEMS has pulled off the biggest acquisition in its short history, winning control of a US armoured car manufacturer for $4.1 billion (£2.1bn).

The company secured ownership of United Defence Industries (UDI) following a fierce weekend battle with rival firms. The deal is the biggest since British Aerospace merged with the defence arm of General Electric to create BAE in 1999...
