I was talking on the phone to an older lady who lives several states away, and she informed me that she'd looked in the mirror and finally seen a wrinkle. And so we both cheered.
She has, you see, been battling heart failure, and it had caused terrific swelling, and she'd been looking in the mirror and seeing what she called a pumpkin instead of her own face.
Being able to see your wrinkles is good.

That's a nice story. It especially strikes me because, after viewing our vacation pictures, I called my sister. "Sister," I said to her. "You know I'm not vain. So please answer me honestly just to assure me that I'm not as ugly as the pictures show." Fortunately, either speaking either truthfully, or with sisterly love, she promised me that I'm just falling prey to the family failng of photographing horribly. While we're not beauties, we're not uglies either!
